We are now three weeks into the academic year, and it's wonderful to see everyone engaging so well in their new classes. Behaviour has been fantastic, with many students earning Q-Points and Stars of the Lesson. In this newsletter, we are proud to share our first photos of the year, including some from the end of last term and the summer.

Settling in to the New Year

We are now three weeks into the academic year, and it's wonderful to see everyone engaging so well in their new classes. Behaviour has been fantastic, with many students earning Q-Points and Stars of the Lesson. In this newsletter, we are proud to share our first photos of the year, including some from the end of last term and the summer.

As you will be aware, on Wednesday and Thursday this week we had our routine inspection from Ofsted. Thank you to all students, parents/carers, and staff who supported this process. We will share the inspection report when it is published in a few weeks.

Welcome from our Head of Year 7

GCSE and A-Level Results

Over the summer, it was a privilege to join students in celebrating their fantastic GCSE and A-Level exam results.

Results Day 1

There were lots of happy students on our Results Days, beaming with pride at their well-deserved and hard-earned grades.

Results Day 2

Particular highlights included Mutasim getting straight A*s at A-Level, and Lara attaining four Grade 9s and five Grade 8s at GCSE. Well done to them and everyone else for their wonderful achievements.

Results Day 3

We are incredibly proud of the work students put in to achieve their grades, and wish them all the best of luck for the future!

Results Day 4

Summer Term Rewards Trips

At the very end of last year, we offered a huge range of opportunities for students in our popular and successful Rewards Week.

Rewards Week 1

There were trips to Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Drayton Manor, Dudley Zoo, Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre, and Barmouth Beach. We also had students taking part in activities in the Academy, and attending the local Shine a Light Festival.

Rewards Week 2

Q3 Academy Great Barr has a long tradition of engaging our students in learning beyond the Academy, and we value the positive impact that this can have on a young person's development.

Rewards Week 3

After the challenges of recent years, including long periods in national lockdown, it was important and rewarding for our Academy community to see each other in a different setting and share memorable experiences on trips and activities.

Rewards Week 4

This was a wonderful way to finish the year, and our students had a fantastic time.
