This week has been another busy week at the Academy. With the digital transformation all but complete, students have begun to access the new devices and teachers have been able to return to a more normal manner of working, albeit with the benefit of new technology to assist their teaching. This week we have heard what's been going on in Maths, we check in with a number of extracurricular clubs, and we see which teacher won the Zafta award this week. Year 7 were intrigued by the talk and asked some excellent questions. Bright futures ahead! – Mrs Meredith Q3 Academy Welcomes New Cadets: The Start of an Exciting JourneyOur new recruits have started their career as cadets in the Combined Cadet Force here at Q3 Academy Great Barr. Whilst much of our cadet training is delivered by staff who volunteer their time, training for our new recruits is largely delivered by senior cadets. Instructing junior cadets helps our senior cadets to deliver core skills including confidence and leadership. These are skills that they will take forwards into life whichever career they choose to follow. Cadets are addressed by their rank and surname. This allows the rank structure of military organisations to be established. It is a sign of respect to address a senior cadet by their rank because they have earned it. New recruits wear name tags on their green coveralls to identify them. – Mr Burlace Miss Hodges celebrates ZAFTA win!Having inspired some wonderful creativity in her classroom, Miss Hodges won the honour of hosting Zog for the week. They enjoyed some excellent English lessons and even settled down with a good book! – Mr Mills Upcoming Events
