We are pleased to announce that, following extensive renovation work over the past two months, our newly upgraded boys' toilet block will be ready to open on Friday. This much-needed improvement marks the first phase of a multi-year investment in enhancing facilities across the Academy. We have already secured funding to make similar improvements to our girls' toilets in the near future. ![]() Each of the six floor-to-ceiling cubicles offers enhanced privacy, creating a comfortable and respectful environment for students. Modern fixtures, bright lighting, and improved ventilation contribute to a cleaner, more welcoming space. The handwashing area and corridor are covered by CCTV to help deter unwanted behaviour, and the camera is positioned such that there is no possibility of viewing inside cubicles. Parents and carers, please speak with your child about looking after these facilities. Of course our duty staff and cleaners have a role to play, but above all, students share a social responsibility to look after spaces like this. Any instances of bullying, intimidation, damage, or more than one student entering a cubicle at a time will result in serious sanctions. We trust that you will support this approach, in line with our commitment to safety and inclusion. Sun, Fun, and Friendship: MultiCity Thrillseekers Take on Europe! On the evening of Wednesday 21st May, a group of Year 9, 10, and 12 students set out by coach, bound for Paris in France, the first stop in our epic multi-city thrillseekers adventure over the May half-term break. We headed straight into the stunning capital and took a sightseeing boat cruise down the river Seine before tucking into a delicious dinner in a local French restaurant. After a good night's sleep, we had a day full of Disney magic, exploring both Disneyland parks. ![]() The second stop on our action-packed itinerary was Salou in Spain. We were fortunate to have glorious sunshine to really enjoy our four days exploring Ferrari Land, Caribe Aquatic Park, and PortAventura which was celebrating its 30th anniversary. ![]() We even managed to squeeze in a leisurely afternoon swim in our hotel pool and a kick-about on the golden beach, for those not too busy basking in the sun! Students really embraced the teamwork elements of the trip and it was so lovely to see everyone coming together, making fantastic memories with new and old friends alike. There was a real sense of community embracing the Academy's broader aims of personal development and character education – good vibes only here! ![]() As we left Salou and travelled back up through France, we stopped to catch up on some much-needed sleep in the Loire Valley. Here we visited the sensational Puy du Fou, voted one of the best theme parks in the world despite it not having a single rollercoaster! Puy du Fou is a unique concept of shows and immersive experiences and is home to a 7,000-seater Roman colosseum. We can see now why it attracts over 2.8 million visitors a year! ![]() The students had such an incredible time that on the way back they were already asking me about next year's MultiCity Thrillseekers trip, so watch this space for our next wild adventure!
